bout Brian Palenske: Brian works and lives in Alaska, where he found it impossible to resist photography. His introduction to photography began with a Kodak "brownie" camera as a child. He began to pursue photography seriously in 2000. The majority of the photos on this site were taken using a 35mm Nikon F100 film camera with Fuji slide film that was then scanned into digital format. Brian's film of choice is Fuji Velvia 50 and 100, slide film.
With an education and professional expertise in computers, the allure of a computer based, all digital workflow that digital photography offered was hard to resist. In 2006 Brian added a Nikon D200 to his camera bag. The instant feedback and digital workflow had an immediate and positive impact on his photography.
Brian enjoys the outdoors and the long daylight hours of the Alaskan summers. During the summer, he can be found outside enjoying the open spaces and incredible photographic opportunities that only Alaska can offer. The dark and cold Alaska winters affords the time to pursue the necessary sorting, processing, organizing, and printing activities that are neglected during the summer.
Brian is a member of the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photographers. For the summer of 2006 Brian has Alaskan photography trips planned to Prince William Sound, Denali National Park, Haines, and the world famous McNeil River in Katmai National Park.
